Instant Pot banana-walnut oatmeal

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 bananas
  • ½ cup walnuts


  1. Preheat Instant Pot on Saute, more heat. Add butter to pot and let melt completely, then add rolled oats and stir until thoroughly coated. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until oats smell nutty, 2 to 3 minutes.

  2. Add brown sugar, milk, vanilla, 1 cups water and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine.

  3. Lock lid into place. Select Manual; high pressure and set time to 10 minutes. After cooking, let pressure release naturally 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure. Unlock and remove lid.

  4. Slice banana. Spoon oatmeal into 4 bowls and top with walnuts and bananas. Add additional brown sugar or milk to taste.
