Bistro steak salad with horseradish dressing
- ½ red onion
- 2 cups radish
- 1 ⅓ cups cherry tomatoes
- 8 bacon strips
- 1 lb top sirloin steak (4 oz, 4 oz, 4 oz, 4 oz portions)
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- 2 ½ tbsp horseradish
- 6 cups mixed greens
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Peel and dice red onion. Thinly slice radish. Cut cherry tomatoes in half.
Line a baking sheet with parchment. Place bacon in a single layer on the baking sheet and bake 15 minutes, or until crispy.
Meanwhile, heat a grill, grill pan or heavy skillet over medium-high. Pat sirloin dry and season with salt and pepper. Place steak on the grill and cook 6 minutes per side, or until done to your preference. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, horseradish, salt and pepper. Place mixed greens in a bowl with red onion, radish and cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with dressing.
Thinly slice sirloin against the grain of the meat. Chop bacon. Divide salad into bowls and top with sliced sirloin and bacon.
