Avocado and basil pesto pasta

  • 15 oz spaghetti
  • 1 ½ cups chopped basil
  • ⅓ cup hemp seeds
  • 1 ¼ lemons
  • 2 ½ tsp minced garlic
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 1 ¼ avocados


  1. Prepare spaghetti according to package instructions, then drain and return to the pot.

  2. Meanwhile, in a food processor or blender, combine basil, hemp seeds, 5 tbsp lemon juice, garlic, pepper and salt. Drizzle in olive oil and scoop the avocado into the mixture; process until creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste. Set aside.

  3. Add avocado pesto to the spaghetti and toss to coat evenly. Garnish with an extra squeeze of lemon if desired.
