Ingredients
- 1 lb green beans
- 1 lemon
- 1 lb pork sausage
- ⅓ cup butter
- 2 ½ tbsp minced garlic
- ¾ tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 ¾ tsp italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme
- ½ cup chicken broth

Step 1
Arrange green beans in a microwave-safe dish; add 2 tbsp lemon juice and 1 cup water. Cover and microwave 6 minutes, until lightly steamed but still crisp. Keep covered and set aside.

Step 2
While green beans cook, place pork sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Add 2 cup water, partially cover and cook 10 minutes, turning sausages occasionally.

Once water has evaporated from skillet, add 2 tbsp butter, 4 tsp garlic and the red pepper flakes. Cook uncovered 2 to 3 minutes, until sausages have browned slightly. Transfer sausage to a plate and set aside.

Return skillet to medium-low heat and add remaining 4 tbsp butter, remaining 4 tsp garlic, the italian seasoning, thyme and green beans. Cook, stirring frequently, until green beans are well coated in butter and just tender, about 4 minutes.

Add chicken broth to the skillet and let reduce 2 to 3 minutes, until thickened. Return sausages to the pan and cook just until hot, about 2 minutes.
