PlateJoy Announces $1.7M in Funding to Become the Netflix for Healthy Food
Today, we announced some big news: PlateJoy has raised $1.7 million in seed funding, to become the Netflix for healthy eating.
When you ask people whether or not they’re happy with the way they’re eating, almost everyone says no. Through our extensive data collection, we’re coming to understand what causes that gap on a personal level, and what it takes to fill it.
Through personalization algorithms, we determine exactly what you should be eating and deliver ingredients to prepare those meals weekly. Subscribers start by taking a lifestyle personalization quiz that asks about all things nutrition, health, and taste. Whether you’re paleo, vegan, trying to lose weight, or just learn simple ways to cook flavorful dishes, we generate a queue of meals that meet your preferences, skill level in the kitchen, and time constraints. You can remove any that don’t appeal to you, and the system gets better at recommending choices over time. Ingredients are delivered locally, fresh, and without packaging waste.
We want to make it easier for people to achieve their health goals, whether that's a certain fitness program, a weight loss routine, or just feeling good every day. We can't wait to continue doing that; funding will go toward adding more personalization features, as well as hiring more great team members to make that happen.
