Christina's Pre-Years Resolution: Day 1

10 years ago I lost 50 pounds. I fought so hard and managed to keep it all off … until this year.

As my pre-years resolution, my goal was to lose 10 of the pounds that crept back.

And I wanted to cut out sugar specifically, because of an interview we did earlier this year with Gretchen Rubin, New York Times bestselling author of The Happiness Project and The Four Tendencies.

When she told me she gave up sugar overnight, I was hooked. Maybe I could too?

I don’t eat a lot of carbs, but I do eat way more sugar than I should. There’s always a dark chocolate bar in my desk drawer. If it’s been a rough day, I treat myself to an acai bowl or vegan ice cream.

But luckily I had a secret weapon to change all that. I do work for this meal planning company after all. ;)

I started out by setting my PlateJoy preferences to Paleo + Clean Eating. I also excluded any natural sweeteners, like honey and maple syrup.

Here’s what my meal plan looked like:

I got my shopping list and scheduled my ingredient delivery through the PlateJoy/Instacart integration. Ingredients for my first breakfast were about to arrive.

First up: Banana berry breakfast bowls with coconut yogurt.

Verdict? It was delicious, and it didn’t really take more time than the granola standby.

Goal: 10 lb weight loss
So far: 0.2 lbs. :D
